Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern your use of HonestDate.Club. By creating an account or accepting an updated version, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who may join

You must be at least 18 years old, have capacity to enter into this agreement, and provide truthful information about yourself. You may maintain only one account and must keep your account secure.

2. Honest profiles

Your profile must represent you accurately. You must not impersonate anyone, mislead members about your identity or intentions, upload content you do not have permission to use, or use the service for fraud, solicitation, harassment or unlawful conduct.

3. Photo requirements and automated processing

You must upload between 3 and 9 suitable photos showing you. Your primary photo must clearly show only you. Sunglasses, novelty face filters (including animal ears), obscured faces, explicit content and photos that do not show you are prohibited. Other people’s faces in group photos must be blurred.

You expressly authorise HonestDate.Club to process copies of your profile photos using automated image-analysis services supplied by Vercel and OpenAI. This processing is used only to assess compliance with our photo, safety and authenticity rules. It may detect whether a person and unobscured face are present, count unblurred faces, and identify sunglasses, face filters, obscured faces or explicit material. It is not used to identify you or infer sensitive personal characteristics.

We calculate a cryptographic fingerprint and a conservative visual fingerprint from the original file before editing. These are used only to prevent one member from uploading exact or clearly near-identical copies of their current photos. They are not compared across members. Automated analysis may be inaccurate. Uncertain cases may be held for human review, and you may replace a rejected photo or contact us to request review.

4. Verification and location

We may require email, mobile, live-face and location verification as conditions of membership. A live-face check captures three camera images while you follow an on-screen movement challenge. We use private automated image analysis to assess whether the challenge appears valid and whether the live face appears consistent with the prominent member face in your approved profile photos. This helps us confirm that the images appear to belong to the same person; it does not prove identity. Ambiguous results go to an authorised reviewer rather than being treated as fraud.

We do not use face information to infer demographic or sensitive characteristics, rank attractiveness, identify you elsewhere or for unrelated purposes. Your exact location and mobile number are not shown publicly. Location is used to verify your suburb and calculate road distance and estimated driving time.

5. Member conduct

Treat members respectfully. Do not threaten, abuse, stalk, discriminate against, exploit or pressure anyone. Never send scams, spam, malware or unsolicited commercial material. Report suspicious or unsafe behaviour promptly.

6. Moderation and accounts

We may review content, restrict visibility, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and preserve or disclose information where reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement or legal compliance. We do not guarantee that every member or item of content has been verified or is accurate.

7. Safety

You are responsible for your interactions and decisions. Take sensible precautions, keep early conversations on-platform, meet in public, tell someone your plans, and never send money or financial credentials to another member.

8. Membership and trials

Standard membership is AU$9.99 per month and includes all dating features. The first 1,000 qualifying members receive 30 days free; the standard trial may differ and is shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time without providing a reason and retain access through an already-paid period. Cancelling membership does not delete your account.

9. Match Guarantee

If a paying member completes 30 days without a genuine connection, future charges pause while full membership remains active. A genuine connection requires a mutual match and at least one message from each participant. When a genuine connection occurs, monthly billing recommences from that date and a new 30-day guarantee period begins. Events involving banned, fraudulent or otherwise invalid accounts may be excluded or reversed following review. Paused profiles and cancelled memberships are handled separately and are not used to manipulate the guarantee.

10. Meet Halfway

Matched members may request public venue suggestions near an approximate midpoint. Precise member co-ordinates are processed server-side and are not shown to the other member. Venue details, travel estimates and opening information are supplied by third-party mapping services and may be inaccurate; check details and use normal first-date safety precautions.

11. Account controls

You may pause your public dating profile without deleting your account. You may separately request account deletion, which immediately removes discovery eligibility and stops billing. We may retain limited payment, fraud, reporting, moderation and safety records where reasonably necessary or legally required.

12. Service availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change as the product develops. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will ask you to accept the updated version before continuing to use affected features.
